Tax Rebate while Positively Impacting Your Community

Tax Rebate while Positively Impacting Your Community

Obtaining a tax deduction by making donations and receiving a section 18A certificate can provide several benefits.

It will lower your overall tax liability, as donations made to qualifying organisations can be deducted for up to 10% of annual taxable income. This will potentially help you receive a larger rebate in terms of the Income Tax Act No 58 of 1962.

It will also provide a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment from supporting a cause or organisation that you believe in. It builds goodwill with staff, suppliers and customers. In South Africa, people view your business from a social responsibility perspective, making it a more attractive option to work for and do business with.

We are a non-profit organisation that provides funding and support to a variety of community-based organisations in the greater Durban area.

Early Childhood Development, the elderly, physically and mentally disabled, abused women, orphanages, as well as STEM programmes, skills development and job readiness are covered by the 98 NPO Impact Partners we support. By supporting us, you are making a positive impact on your community while qualifying for a tax deduction.

It is important to note that to claim a tax deduction, the donation must be made to a qualifying organisation (like Community Chest Durban) that is registered with SARS (South African Revenue Service) as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) and is able to issue a valid section 18A certificate confirming the amount of your donation.
