As a registered NPO, Community Chest provides donors with Section 18A Certificates and a B-BBEE Due Diligence Report. A company can donate up to 10% of its annual taxable income to charitable causes and receive the full amount as a tax rebate from SARS. Community Chest Durban has Level 1 B-BBEE status and is verified annually by an independent rating agency.  

You can achieve this in a number of ways:

• Your company can donate a sum of money and Community Chest will allocate the funds towards its monthly grant programme for Impact Partners.
• Donor Advised Giving enables a corporate or individual to specify which NPO Impact Partners they would like to support and the allocated amount is disbursed accordingly by Community Chest.
• Donations in Kind are re-distributed to impact partners that can make the best use of the type of goods.
• Workplace Giving allows employees of companies to donate an elected amount via their employer’s payroll system.
• Matched Giving is undertaken by corporates that equal the total contributions of their employees via Workplace Giving.
• Engage with the corporate department to find out how maximum points can be achieved on the Socio-Economic Development section of the B-BBEE Scorecard.
